It has taken over a month for another exciting breastfeeding event and its installment here, but worth the wait. I attended a 2 day conference in Melbourne entitled "Management of Feeding Disorders in the Normal Infant" run by Pam Heselev from the BESS clinic I visited at the Royal Women's Hospital and Glenys Freeman, a paediatric physiotherapist who works for the Victorian Government in the Dept of Human Services. These amazing women have been doing special work with babies who have a "positional turn" and exhibiting accompanying feeding difficulties, and after development and implementation of a special regime of simple physiotherapy and exercises, they are seeing marked improvement in the feeding ability of these babies. I will post more details later, but suffice to say it was an enlightening two days.
